Sex workers from around the Asia Pacific hold silent protest

Sex Workers Forum of the International Congress on HIV/AIDS in the Asia Pacific 2009 Silent Protest at International Convention Centre Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia

  1. Protesting the lack of translation into Bahasa Indoneian. Sex workers are a community affected by HIV/AIDS – we deserve a voice. The theme of ICAAP 2009 is Strengthening Networks and Empowering People. However the lack of panels in Bahasa Indonesian has excluded Indonesian sex workers and they will be protesting this today.

We demand ICAAP allow presentations in multiple languages and open the dialogue to people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
